Composite
(Tooth Colored Fillings)

Fillings are used to restore lost tooth structure due to decay or fracture by using materials such as metal alloy or composite resin.  Tooth colored composite resin fillings are more aesthetic in appearance then the traditional silver amalgams. As opposed to metal fillings, tooth colored fillings are bonded to tooth structure.

Crowns & Bridges

Crowns are artificially made teeth that cover the entire natural teeth to restore its full functionality and appearance.  They are usually fabricated to protect teeth from fractures or restore teeth that are fractured. They are made from different materials such as metal, porcelain fused to metal or all porcelain. There are both pros and cons to each type of material. Discuss with your dentist to determine which type fits best to your situation.

Bridges, like crowns, are artificial teeth made from the same materials. The difference is bridges replace missing teeth to close up gaps by crowning the teeth adjacent to the missing teeth and fusing the crowns and false teeth together. Bridges are cemented on permanently.

Root Canal Therapy

A tooth needs a root canal therapy when the nerve is diagnosed as being necrotic, large tooth decay to the nerve, or constant throbbing pain that doesn’t go away.

Partial & Full Dentures

In the case where there are too many missing teeth that bridges and implants are not an option, then the restoration of choice to restore full chewing functionality are removable dentures. Partial dentures are made with a metal framework and acrylic base or all acrylic. All acrylic “Valplast” gives the most optimum esthetics. Complete dentures are usually made from all acrylic.

Veneers &
Whitening

Veneers, usually made of porcelain, are thin laminates that covers the entire front side of the tooth. Some indications for veneers are to close small gaps, straighten misaligned teeth, and restore chipped, worn down teeth.

Tooth whitening is the process which lightens teeth to help remove stains and correct tooth discoloration.
